“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10
St. Pope John Paul II “For I know my offense; my sin is always before me” (Ps 51:5). So many people have been aided by this wonderful text about the inner truth of the conscience, to penetrate their deeper selves. They have been helped to call evil by its true name, evil that is in man and whose cause is man. An examination of one’s conscience is always a rereading of the deepest truth about oneself, a truth that can never be erased. The greatness of man lies in this truth. The dignity of a human being demands that man be able to call it by its name, and not falsify it. (Angelus, February 23, 1986)
