Las Mañanitas
On December 11, 2022, the Guadalupanas will be having an event to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe, called "Las Mañanitas". Join us for a Holy Hour from 7 - 8pm in the church for Adoration, Rosary and an all-female Mariachi to honor and serenade Our Lady for her feast day on December 12. We will have light refreshments following in the Parish Hall. All are welcome!
This ministry is comprised of Catholic women devoted to Our Lady of Guadalupe. The group dedicates their time, efforts and prayer to support activities at SMDP. Members devote their time and talent for various fundraising efforts and activities year round to support their highlight event in which they sponsor Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass, celebrated every December on or about her Feast Day of December 12th. At this special celebratory mass, the choir music is celebrated with a mariachi musical group singing hymns in Spanish. During the mass a reenactment is performed of the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe to St. Juan Diego in the Tepeyac hill country of Mexico. The mass culminates with traditional Aztec dancers who pay homage to Our Lady via their traditional dance and native traditions.
This ministry invites you to join them in keeping alive the many traditions surrounding Our Lady of Guadalupe.
