Father Sy Nguyen was ordained to the priesthood by the late Bishop Norman McFarland in 1991. He served as parochial vicar at the Mission San Juan Capistrano (1991-1995), St. Vincent de Paul parish in Huntington Beach (1995-1999) and Blessed Sacrament parish in Westminster (1999-2001). He was sent to Rome by Bishop Tod Brown to study Canon Law at the Gregorian University (2001-2003). He then served as the adjutant judicial vicar at the Tribual of the Diocese of Orange for 5 years, four of which he was its Director (2003-2008). Before coming to St. Martin's, he was the Director of the Vietnamese Catholic Center for 2 years (2008-2010). As the pastor of St. Martin's, Father Sy (pronounced cee) wants to love his parishioners to heaven and asks the people of St. Martin's to do the same for him.
